Nessie Stonebridge
Nessie Stonebridge is a contemporary artist. Her paintings depict the explosive energy of the avian world of rural Norfolk where her studio is now based. A flash of light, feathers, beaks: a vortex of vitality, blood, life and death. She paints birds of the wetlands and hinterlands, magisterial swans, herons and raptors. Like a flock frozen in space, she captures the spirit of wild birds as they fly, hover and dive above us in protection of their space. Depiction of the sky in Nessie's work reflects the observed energy and movement of their flight.
Nessie has a BA (Hons) Sculpture from the University of Hertfordshire (1994) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Painting from City and Guilds in London (2003). She has exhibited worldwide.
