Anne Lynch RWS
Anne Lynch, originally from Edinburgh where she attended Edinburgh College of Art, is a contemporary artist now living in London with studios in London and France.
She works almost exclusively in watercolour and uses collage to sustain the mark and luminosity of colour. Anne says, "I am fascinated by knowing that our experiences comprise of a juxtaposition of things that have already happened to us (past) and the absorption of what we experience in the now (the present)...... Usually there are a lot of different images going on within the work, some are parts of objects or people. It is like having a conversation with my ideas on the paper and the various images also are talking to each other within the work ....Landscape has always been a subject I enjoy and most of the paintings have been inspired by the wonderful trees on the West coast of France near St. George- de -Donne They are like dancers stretching across the sky in very comical movements." Anne won the Purchase Prize at the RWS Contemporary Watercolour Exhibition in 2017, the Art Critic Award in the RI at the Mall Galleries in 2018 and was shortlisted for the Drawing Bursary Discerning Eye exhibition in 2014. Anne exhibits throughout the UK and France, particularly at The Mall Galleries and Bankside Gallery with the Royal Watercolour Society. She was selected as a full member in 2021.
