Sara Philpott
Sara is a painter and printmaker originally from the South of England. She now lives and works in mid Wales where her current work reflects the dialogue between the botanical and the human and is often narrative in nature.
The paintings are often built up with coloured oil glazes and are sometimes detailed depictions of botanical events, transformed into metaphors by the emotional investment of the painter. Often collaborating with well respected poets of Wales, her work with private presses such as Gwasg Gregynog and the Old Stile press features in National collections. Her printmaking and painting practices inform one another by turn. Sara graduated from Central School of Art in London. She exhibits mainly in London and in selected Welsh galleries. Her work was exhibited at Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh, Suffolk in 2014. For sales enquires please contact [email protected] |
